For some reason, I couldn't add my Hammers'n Sickles collage into Facebook, wonder if they have a hammer and sickle filter?
Here too due to the slow internet connection, I could only add one.
It was interesting to walk the streets of Kolkata and suddenly find oneself in a communist pocket, where all walls were loaded with these symbols of internationalism and solidarity.
This particular graffiti was found on Beldevere Street, "just a walking distance from posh", in the north-east Salt Lake satellite township.
Even though the CPI-M lost its 30-year-long stronghold in the state of West Bengal last year, one cannot avoid its legacy in the minds and hearts of common people.
The writings on the walls seemed so very sincere.
